Willie Mikulec, Jr.

Willie Mikulec Jr., 63 of Smithville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020.   He was born to the late Willie Sr. and Florence Mikulec, on September 29, 1956, in La Grange, Texas.

Willie graduated in 1976 from Smithville High School.  He retired from the City of Smithville in 2017.

Willie was very active with St. Pauls’ Catholic Church.  He volunteered for homebound at the church and the nursing home.  He participated in the rosary and attended Friday morning masses at the Towers Nursing Home.  He was a member of the KC Council 4868.  He was voted Knight of the year in 2017.

Everyone will remember him as an influential person in a quiet way and he will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Willie is survived by three sisters: Paulene Scoggins of Bastrop, Texas, Annie Tompkins and husband Ray of Smithville, Texas, and Wendy Stuessy and husband Olien “Bubba”of Bastrop, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Florence, sister: Dana Mikulec, brother-in-law: Robert Scoggins and his grandparents.

A rosary will be held at 10:30 am and the memorial service will be held 11 am, Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Saint Paul’s Catholic Church and will be laid to rest at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
