Peggy L. Allen

August 14, 1937 — July 13, 2020

Peggy Allen, 82, of Bastrop County, TX passed away on Monday, July 13th 2020. At home, where she wanted to be. She was surrounded by love & care from Family and her Favorite Kid, Marley (AKA Sir Bark-A- Lot).

Born in Tucumcari, NM on August 14, 1937, her younger years were spent in Roswell & Carlsbad, NM. Graduating from Carlsbad High School in the 50’s. She went on to work & live in many different areas throughout the U.S.A. and started over with nothing more times than one can keep tract of. Without patience for much, she hurried through life, kept it clean, and did the best she could with what was given to her. She was tough beyond what she showed. She was outspoken and would put you in your place if needed. She loved deeply and while forgiveness did not come quickly for her, it always came with time. She loved and raised 4 Children mostly on her own. They drove her crazy most of the time but her love was endless. She eventually settled in Bastrop County, Texas in 1999 where she helped raise 2 of her Grandchildren. She was a Member of Smithville Church of Christ, Smithville, TX, and Hearts & Hands. She enjoyed volunteering Tower’s Nursing Home when she could. She loved playing Bingo and Trivia at The Cistern Country Store and was very entertaining to all who knew her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her Son, Barton Keith Coley and Parents, Robert & Dolly Wicker all of Carlsbad, NM.

She is survived by her Children, Robert Coley of Carlsbad, NM. Robin Ruyle & Dolly Hellinger of Bastrop County, TX. 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life will not be held at this time until we can gather for a proper Remembrance.
