Littie Bledsoe

Mother Littie M. Bledsoe was born to Bessie (Darvin) and Isaac Rogers on September 15, 1924. She entered into eternal life on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at St. David's Hospital in Austin, Texas.

Littie grew up and attended school in Upton along with her three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of COGIC in Waukegan, IL under the leadership of Pastor C. A. Ward, (deceased). Littie was employed as a housekeeping aide at the VA Hospital in North Chicago, IL for many years. She relocated to Smithville, Texas in 1974 where she united in Holy Matrimony to Jimmie Lee Bledsoe.

Littie May is preceded in death by her beloved husband. Also gone before are her daughter and son-in-law, Annie M. and Herbert Simien; Jerome Whitaker her son; and John S. Whitaker, her children's father.

Those who cherish her memory are daughters: Johnnie M. Whitaker Moulton and Patricia E. Whitaker Fisher; sons: John S. Whitaker, Herbert L. (Gloria) Whitaker, Gill Whitaker, Rev. Lawrence V. (Ernestine) Whitaker; stepdaughters: Louberdia Bledsoe Davis (Charles), Marcinella Bledsoe Clemons (Clifton); step-sons: Curtis Bledsoe and Wayne Bledsoe. Littie's extended family includes a host of grand, great, great- great, and great-great-great children, plus nieces, nephews, many, many friends, co-workers and neighbors. She attended fellowship at area churches and demonstrated her love of serving the Lord by cooking, gardening, visiting nursing homes and supporting community events.

Our family expresses our gratitude for your love and concern as your prayers, calls, gifts and many deeds during the illness and the home-going of our Littie May sustained us. Please keep us in prayer. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Towers and Lost Pines Nursing Homes, St. David's Hospital South and Main in Austin, and to Marrs-Jones and Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Homes. Blessings to Rev. Blackmore and Minister Walker of Austin, Texas. Heartfelt gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Rick Mays of Smithville, Texas.

Visitation is 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 14, 21017 with funeral service following at 11:00 AM at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home. Interment at Colorado Cemetery, Smithville, Texas.
