Luvone Henrietta Parks Gray was called Home on Friday, October 22nd at 5:03 pm. She passed peacefully with family at her side in Jacksonville, Florida.

Luvone Henrietta Gray was born in August 4, 1947 to Henry Oliver Parks and Luvone Ham Parks in Rocksprings, Tx. She was the youngest of 12 siblings. Her family moved throughout Central Texas for various jobs. When she was 18 her family moved to Smithville, Tx. It was there she met Emil Scott Gray. On February 14, 1967, they were married in Mexico. They settled in Smithville and a daughter; Sheila Gray Deyo. In 1972, Henrietta started working at Smithville Hospital as a nurses aide. In no time she became a ward clerk then a certified registered pharmacy technician. She enjoyed a 45 year career of at the hospital.

Over the years, she was a true fan of all her grandchildren’s various activities. She was known as Nana to most and she never met a stranger. After early retirement from Smithville Hospital in January 2017, she moved to Lufkin, Tx. She loved the area from the times she was there watching her youngest granddaughter play college softball. She worked part time at an assisted living center there. In January 2021, she decided to move Jacksonville, Fl. to live with her oldest granddaughter to help her with her first greatgranddaughter. The last 8 months of her life was full of joy spending time with the great grand baby.

Henrietta Gray was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 10 of her siblings. She is survived by her brother, Howard (Buddy) Parks of Smithville, TX; daughter, Sheila Gray Deyo of Copperas Cove, TX; granddaughter, Selina and husband, Joseph Nieto of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Trina and husband Cody Pierce of Grapeland, TX; grandson, Trevor Deyo of Copperas Cove, TX; grandson, Daniel and wife, Kristina Deyo of Bryan, TX; grandson, Rolando and wife, Sarah Deyo of Smithville, TX; great-granddaughter, Juliet Rose Nieto of Jacksonville, FL; great-granddaughter Freya Izabel Deyo of Bryan, TX; great-grandson, Maverick Riggs Deyo of Smithville, TX; brother-in-law, Ernest and wife, Janet Gray of Smithville, TX; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Gray of Smithville, TX; brother-in-law, Zane and wife, Francis Gray of Smithville, TX; brother-in-law, Gene and wife, Glenda Gray of Yoakum, TX; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Visitation will be from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Marr Jones Funeral Home. The funeral home is located at 110 American Legion Rd. in Smithville, Texas.

The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Marr Jones Funeral Home with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery.
