Felipe T. Rocha

May 11, 1937 — May 10, 2023

Our beloved father Felipe Trejo Rocha, 85, of Austin, Texas (formerly from Smithville, Texas) passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023, at Southpark Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Felipe and Gertrude Rocha have four children. He is survived by his children, Norma Limon (Robert, Sr.), Grace Cisneros (Robert), Rebecca Camacho (Joe), and John Rocha; his grandchildren, Alyssa Broddrick (Luke), Christina Vause (Mitchell), and Robert Limon, Jr. (Leticia); and great-grandson Robert Rene Limon, III (Trey).

Felipe was born in Bastrop County, Texas on May 11, 1937. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus until he moved to Austin. Felipe worked at Marhill and Cen-Tex Manufacturing. His hobbies included fishing, welding, and working on cars. As a parent, he was involved in his children’s school activities and took pride in coaching John's little league baseball team, being a Scout Leader for his boy scout troop and enjoyed teaching him how to fish and work on vehicles.

Felipe is survived by his only brother, Louis Rocha of Muldoon,Texas and his niece, Laura Gonzales of Austin, Texas. Because of Louis’ close bond with his brother, he honored him by naming his middle son Phillip. Laura was like a daughter to Felipe and an older sister to his children. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins and many caring friends.

Felipe was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Julia Rocha and his sisters Eva Salas and Isabelle Degollado.

Visitation will be held at Marrs-Jones, 110 American Legion Road, Smithville, Texas on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, with a rosary to follow from 6:00 -7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 10 AM – 11 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 204 Mills Street, Smithville, Texas, followed by a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Smithville, Texas.
