Wilma E. Rice

Wilma Ernestine (Seidel) Rice, 91, of Smithville Texas passed away on March 24, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Wilma was born in Red Rock, Texas to Louis and Emma Seidel on August 5, 1934. She attended Sacred Heart School in Rockne, Texas.

On September 11, 1955, she married Homer Carl Rice, Jr. She and Carl had three sons and one daughter: Carl Wayne, James David, Bobby Derrell and Debbie Ann (Tater). Wilma also had nine grandchildren: Kevin, Carla, Hanna, Leslie, Kellie, Julie, Lacey, Ashley, and David, and several great-grandchildren.

Wilma is preceded in death by her husband Homer, daughter Debbie (Tater) and grandson David.

Wilma will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or the Smithville Library in loving memory of Wilma Rice.

Visitation and Rosary will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Marrs Jones Funeral Home. The visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and the Rosary will start at 7:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at St Paul Catholic Church with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery.
