With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Victoria Garcia Ruiz (Smithville, Texas), who passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Eulalio Garcia and Augustina Trejo Garcia; and her brothers, Reyes Garcia, Chester Garcia and Timothy Garcia; her sisters, Barbara Salas and Adela Espinoza; and her husband of 39 years Aurelio Rangel Ruiz. She is survived by: her sons, Andrew Ruiz (Caroline) of San Angelo and Gilbert Ruiz (Aimee) of Corpus Christi and her daughter, Sally Ruiz of Austin; her grandchildren, Tonya Herrera, Andrew Ruiz Jr., Joseph Hernandez, Jeanette Flores, Gilbert Ruiz Jr., Victoria Ruiz; and her 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be held on Wednesday, December 13th 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home (110 American Legion Rd, Smithville, TX 78957). A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Smithville on Thursday, December 14th 2023 at 10:00 AM (204 Mills St., Smithville, TX 78957), burial will conclude services at the Oak Hill Cemetery (473 State Hwy 95, Smithville, TX 78957).
