Dr. Stanley Ross Crump of Flatonia, Texas passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023. Stan was born in Bastrop, Texas on August 2, 1944 to Bess and Ross Crump. At an early age, his family moved to the Houston area where Stan graduated from Milby High School in 1962. Stan went on to attend Texas A&M University where he graduated with his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1968.
Soon after graduation, Dr. Crump broke ground on Friendswood Animal Clinic in Friendswood, Texas and built it into a highly successful small animal clinic. When not caring for the animals at his clinic, Stan enjoyed volunteering and coaching with the Friendswood Little League. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed many fishing trips with friends over the years.
Stan retired from his veterinary practice in 2009 and moved to his ranch in Flatonia, Texas. There he enjoyed many years surrounded by his family, friends, and animals. Dr. Stanley Ross Crump is survived by his wife, Linda Crump; sons, Ross Crump and wife Dannah and Rory Crump; grandchildren, Zoe Crump and Waylon Crump; along with an extensive extended family.
Family and friends will gather at from 9:30 to 10:30am on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Marrs Jones Funeral Home. The celebration of Stan's life will begin at 10:30 and graveside services will follow at Alum Creek Cemetery.
