Sheryle Shank

 

Sheryle Ellen (Petersen) Shank passed away at her home in Atlanta Texas the morning of August 28, 2023.

 

She was preceded by her husband Jody Shank in May of 2014.

 

Her daughter, Amber Kuizinas Ready (Mikeal) is the daughter of Sheryle (Petersen) Shank and John T Kuizinas is living in Texas and whom Sheryle resided with upon her dearh. She also left behind a step daughter Marion Turnbull (Timothy) and a step Son Jason (Carmon Maldonado). Her grandchildren she left behind are: Ashlin Kuizinas (Danielle), Jessica Cole Welch (Shawn), Benjamin Smith (Sara), Alysia Smith, Faith Smith; Jonathon Turnbull (Nova), Jarred Turnbull, Tabitha Turnbull Moore (Shane), Kiara Shank, Sadie Maldonado. Sheryle's great grandchildren are: Carter, Conner, Ava, Audrey, Brantley, Gianna, Owen, Zaylee, Chance, Ashlyn, Gabriel, Jude, Jemma-Grace, and Sadie Maldonado expecting a new baby soon.

 

Sheryle was born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 1, 1943 to Roy Henry and Beryle Ellen (Casey) Petersen. Her father Roy was a aviation pilot in the US Navy and was killed in a experimental test flight when she was 4 months old. Sheryle lived in Wisconsin on Puck-A-Way Lake in her younger years with her mother. After getting married (Kuizinas) she lived in Illinois then later relocated to Texas later remarrying to Jody Shank. Sheryle travelled abroad and in most all states in the US where she made sure fishing was a part of that trip. Sheryle was musical, sang and playing piano and a little organ, clarinet and guitar and bass instruments, and was very artistic. Sheryle was a certified pilot, a certified phlebotomist, and worked early on for many years in Prison Ministries and prayer groups, part of Community Women's groups in Decatur, IL and McMahon, TX. Sheryle loved her critters - all her dogs,  horses, little birds and cats. Sheryle's education was a Bachelors in the sciences as she worked as a nurse then employed as a Chemist for many years, then a.home.health nurse, then Sheryle worked with Marrs & Jones Funeral home assisting her community in prearrangements successfully for years. The most important part of Sheryle's life was that she is a born again Christian who is truly in love with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In her last weeks. She prayed daily and studied the Bible with her daughter Amber. Even though stubborn with her family at times, Sheryle loved her family and was very curious of them.

 

Now, Sheryle is to be laid to rest next to her husband, Jody Shank and her father-n-law Edward Shank in Jeddo Cemetery in Jeddo, Texas. The Lord has blessed this family greatly with Sheryle and her family will miss her greatly.
