Sandra Kay Ladewig, 79, passed away on November 17, 2024 in Cleveland, TX surrounded by her family. Sandy was born on August 12, 1945 to Luther and Doris Thompson in Charleston, South Carolina. She later moved to South Houston, Texas where she worked at RMC building boats. After many years in the fiberglass business, she changes paths and became a barber; attending school at Norris of Houston Barber School.
She is survived by husband Eugene (Bubba) Ladewig, son Tony Ladewig, daughters Rhonda Fannin, Kimberly Contos and husband Sam. She was a grandmother to 8 and great-grandmother to 7. She is also survived by numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Luther Thompson, sister Sheila Thompson, daughter Patti McDonald, and daughter in law Lisa Ladewig.
Sandy and Bubba started Beer-N-Ashes Cookin’ Team in 1984 and continued cooking in competitions until 2017 when the team retired. She loved to go to the casino; she was a slot machine champ! She had a love for her little dogs. In her downtime she enjoyed bossing her family around, because we all knew she was the BOSS!
