Mary Kuehn

June 22, 1926 — November 29, 2018

Connie, 92, of Smithville, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018.

She was born to the late Otto Fritz Kuehn and Mary Martha (Mamie) Preuss Kuehn in Smithville, Texas on June 12, 1926. Connie graduated Valedictorian from Smithville High School in 1942.

Upon graduation, Connie went to work and worked for the next 47 years until she retired. She worked at Piggly Wiggly, then Entex in Smithville, then Entex in New Braunfels, and then Entex in Freeport, and the last employer was Entex in Houston, Texas.

Connie retired and returned to Smithville where she was an active member of The First Baptist Church of Smithvillle. She devoted much time to her church, working in many various positions over the years.

She loved to read, enjoyed sewing and all kinds of handwork, and especially enjoyed collecting wild flower seeds to sow in her vacant lot beside her house. She also befriended and helped many people in her community.

Connie was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Lena, and a brother, Kenneth Ray. She is survived by five sisters, Laura Freytag, Patience Campbell, Harriet Morgan, Margaret Landers and husband, Dean, and June Lane and husband, Bill, and also by many nieces and nephews, including the next two generations of Great and Great-Great.

Connie requested that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Smithville in lieu of flowers.

A visitation will be held at 4 – 6 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the All Faiths in the Pines Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at The First Baptist Church of Smithville at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
