Martha Meneghetti

December 28, 1932 — July 15, 2018

Martha Ann Meneghetti

Martha Ann Meneghetti, better known as "Marty", passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 15, 2018 at the age of 85, after years of Alzheimer's. Marty will always be alive in the loving heart of her husband of 59 years, John Meneghetti; and in the lights of her life-her children Tony (Shelli), Anne, Carole (Richard), Louis (Erika), Frank (Karen), Susan, and her grandchildren Julia, Robert, Jorden, Paul, Ali, Michael, Zoe, Elle, Emma, Avery, and Lily.

Marty was born on December 28, 1932, to George and Mary Vacek, near Smithville, TX, where she was raised on the family farm picking cotton, milking cows, and caring for her younger brothers and sisters. After attending Seton Nursing School in Austin, TX, she worked as a surgical nurse at Nix Hospital in San Antonio, TX. There she met the love of her life, John, at a Catholic young adults social group. Marty devoted her entire life to caring for everyone around her, inspiring us all with her humility and selflessness.

A rosary, celebration of life, and burial will be held on Saturday, July 21st at 10 am at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church located at 310 Stolle Lane (County Rd. 112) in Kovar, TX, coordinated through Marrs-Jones Funeral Home. A reception will follow at St. Paul Catholic Church Parish Hall at 204 Mills Street in Smithville, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to St. Patrick Church School (spsdallas.org) in memory of Martha Meneghetti, to acknowledge her love for children.
