Martha Hirsch

Martha Louise Senter Hirsch (77) of Smithville, TX was called home to our Lord on February 15, 2022.

Martha was born to Jack and Louise Senter in Gonzales, Texas on October 10, 1944. Martha graduated from Moulton High School in 1963. She married the love of her life, Otto James Hirsch in November, 1963 and had 5 beautiful children. Martha devoted her life to her family and friends and lived a life full of service, she was the ultimate host. There was always food on the table and coffee for the neighbors. She enjoyed her time working at Smithville ISD with the Special Education class. When she wasn’t serving others, she loved to travel and see God’s creations.

Martha was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Senter Wall; father, Jack Senter; husband, Otto Hirsch, Sr.; son, Patrick Hirsch; and brother, Harry Senter.

Martha is survived by her children, Otto Hirsch, Jr (Kriss), Donny Hirsch (Amy), Bobby Hirsch (Celeste), Kristyn Scoggins (Bill); grandchildren, Heather, Kelsey, Grant, Britan, Timothy, Ethan, Jeron, Ensley, Jacen, Emilee, Katie (Travis), Tyler (Breanne), Cody (Katie), Lane (Megan), Callie, Claire; great grandchildren; Lynsan, Revelyn, Courtney, Connor, Colton and Nolan and two more on the way. Siblings; John Senter (Stephanie) and Sarah Maness. She also leaves behind her special friend, Bob Jeffrey, and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 4:00pm-6:00pm in the chapel of Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in Smithville, followed by rosary at 6:00pm. Mass will be Monday, February 21, 2022, at 10:00am at St. Paul Catholic Church of Smithville, followed by interment in St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery in Moulton, TX starting at 12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations to be made to The Farmer’s House, https://thefarmershouse.org, an organization that’s mission is to empower youth and adults with developmental disabilities to pursue their best lives.
