Lester Bud Rector went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2019. Lester was born in Smithville, Texas on April 18, 1944 to the late Jerome Bud and Julie Rector.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Bud and Julie Rector; Brothers, Louie Leon Rector, Silmon Rector, And Franklin Douglas Rector: sisters, Cynthia Ann Jones and Doris Arnold and sister-in-law, Wilma Rector.
Lester is survived by his children, Jeremy Rector and Laurie Rector; sisters, Frances Parker and Husband Billy, Kathy Lynch and husband Lloyd and Carol Rightmer and husband Donald.
He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews along with his close friends.
A big part of Lester’s life was spent as a DJ. As “Budman” he played at numerous weddings, anniversary parties, grand openings, the BCMRA monthly Canteen Dances and for the public.
In his younger years, he worked in retail auto part sales, for the Katy Railroad, Coors and was a realtor for Smithville Real Estate. In his spare time, Lester enjoyed fishing, making wine, cooking, gardening, dancing and music.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM at All Faiths of the Pines, Smithville, Texas. Services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:00AM also at All Faiths of the Pines. Lester will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery following the funeral services.
Pall Bearers for Lester Rector will be the following family and friends: Kenneth Rector- nephew, Harvey Rector – nephew, Harvey Rector – nephew, Michael Rector – nephew Kenneth Matocha – friend, James Peschke – friend, Daniel Kadlecek – friend, Robbie Curles – friend and Brad Zimmerhanzel – friend.
