Lera Javor

Lera A Javor passed from this life December 29, 2014 at the age of 93. She was born in Smithville, Texas to Alma (Krueger) and Gus Witt.

Being born and raised in Smithville, Lera was very proud of the community. She was a graduate of Smithville High School's class of 1939. She was active in the Garden Club, the Smithville Heritage Society and the Smithville Library. Though not a member, she was involved in helping start the Smithville Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Lera was honored as a Smithville citizen of the year. She was a very active person and enjoyed helping people. She worked with several doctors doing just that at the Medical and Surgical Center in LaMarque, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, George Javor, Sr., two children, Robert W. Javor, George A. Javor,Jr. and her brother Werner Witt.

Lera is survived by her son, Kenneth D. Javor and his wife Consie of Denton, three grandchildren, Kirsten Stone and her friend Axel DeGroote of Keller, Wade Javor and his wife Nicki of Hurst, Stephanie Martinez and her husband Pat of Houston, four great-grandchildren, Addy Stone, Abby and Breckin Javor, Ace Martinez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Smithville Heritage Society or the Smithville Library in loving memory of Lera Javor.

Visitation will be 9:00am to 10:30am Wednesday, December 31, 2014 with services beginning at 10:30am at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas.
