Johnnie Ray Randolph, of Smithville, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous fight. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace, welcomed home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited with loved ones who went before him.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose greatest accomplishment was the family he loved so fiercely. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Christy; his children, Sheri, her husband Johnny, Lisa, her husband Denver , and Johnnie,his wife Meg; his cherished grandchildren, Lacie, Dylan, Jonah, Jake, Jack, Charlie, Margaret, Mitchell, and Brandon, and his treasured great-grandchildren, Laney and Chase. He is also survived by his sisters, Donna, her husband Bobby, Susan, and Sandy, her husband Rick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Margaret Randolph, son in law Bill Jeffrey, and his favorite dog, Presley.

John spent his life building more than businesses. He built a legacy. Through his career in fire protection and his work in the Longhorn cattle industry, he earned the respect of countless people through his integrity, dedication, and unwavering work ethic. He believed that hard work was an expression of love, and he spent his life ensuring his family had every opportunity to succeed and every reason to know they were loved.

Those who knew him will remember his quick wit, his kindness, his intelligence, and his ability to make people laugh. Whether offering advice, sharing a story, or lending a helping hand, he had a way of making others feel welcome and cared for.

Above all else, family was everything to him. Every long day, every sacrifice, and every accomplishment was for the people he loved most. The values he instilled, the memories he created, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to live on through each generation of his family.

John fought the good fight with strength and grace. While his presence will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing his love remains with them always. His was a life well lived, a legacy well earned, and a love that will never fade.

The family asks that those who knew and loved John honor his memory by cherishing their loved ones, working hard, and extending kindness to others, just as he did every day of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Smithville Volunteer Fire Department to honor his life and legacy.

A service to celebrate Johnnie Ray will be held from 11:00am to 2:00pm on Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Smithville Recreation Center located at 106 Royston Street.
