John "Doc" Holliday

 John “Doc” Holliday was born January 6th, 1938, and was raised in Poplarville, Mississippi. John was the oldest son of John and Irene Holliday, of Poplarville, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Thomas B. Holliday. John “Doc” died June 3rd, 2024, in Bastrop, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Holliday, Son, Kerry Holliday, Daughters, Kim Goree & her husband Frank, Kay Redd & her husband David. Two Grandsons, Johnathan Redd and his wife Kayla, and Christopher Redd. Five Granddaughters, Shelby Smith and her husband Mattie and their son, the Great Grandson of Doc, Carter Smith, Mackenzie Holliday, Katelyn Holliday, Haley Redd and Reagan Holliday. And Doc's special friend, Socks the Cat. Doc had many nephews and nieces and cousins.

 John “Doc” graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1963 with a bachelor’s in business administration. Doc retired in 1998 from the Texas Park and Wildlife. 

Doc and Carolyn are long time members of the First Baptist church of Smithville Texas.

 John “Doc” Holliday’s final resting place will be in his hometown of Poplarville, Mississippi

Services for Doc will be Saturday, June 8th 2024, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, 300 Hudgins Street, Smithville, TX
