James Donald Hatton, 85, passed away in Bastrop, Texas on April 16, 2022.
James was born in Washington D.C. on January 10, 1937 to James Stuart Hatton and Muriel Louise Heitt Hatton. James enlisted in the United States Air Force in Washington D.C. July 19, 1956. He proudly served during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged as Master Sgt. E-7 at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Texas on January 31, 1978.
James entered, passed, and was raised in General John J. Pershing Lodge #66 located in Maastricht, The Netherlands where he was a life member. He later joined Onion Creek Lodge #220 in Austin, Texas where he was an endowed member. James was a very quiet man and a devoted family man. James and his step-son, Bruce, had many conversations over the years about his long tenured masonic journey. He did share a little of his masonic journey from the Netherlands about the black tuxedo, white gloves and top hat with Bruce.
James was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Stuart Hatton and Muriel Louise Heitt Hatton; two brothers, Gerald Alan Hatton and Paul Richard Hatton; and stepson, David Lewis Calvery.
James is survived by his wife, Alice Janelle Morris Hatton; stepson, Bruce W. Calvery (Christina); great granddaughter, Megan Calvery, one step-daughter-In-Law, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Burial of cremated remains will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at 10:15 a.m. on June 10, 2022.
