Hugh Creighton Wallis, III left this life to be with Jesus June 6, 2023. He was born June 18, 1942, to Hugh C. Wallis, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Stubblefield Wallis, the first of four children welcomed into this loving family.
As a young man, Hugh served in the Navy before earning a bachelor’s degree from USL. While there, he met and married the love of his life, Blanche Bieber, after being introduced to her by his sister Anne. He was called to music ministry and served the Lord joyfully in Baptist churches in Abbeville, Westlake, Crowley, Ruston, Lake Charles, and DeRidder, LA. After retiring, Hugh and Blanche moved to West Point, TX and were active in FBC Smithville, TX. The Lake Arthur Camp was also a special part of his life for many years, and he loved the people there who became like family. He had a heart for people and was dearly loved for the grace and unconditional love he showed.
Hugh’s family was a source of great joy to him. They include his wife of 58 years, Blanche Bieber Wallis, children Paula Kile and husband Cal, Laura Hughes and husband Jim, Rosemary Pinkard and husband Chris, and Creighton Wallis and wife Jacque; siblings Anne Self and husband David, Richard Wallis and wife Judy, Kay McGarry and husband John; grandchildren Katy Kile, Kollyn Kile, Jonathan Hughes and wife Amy, Ryan Hughes, Will Hughes, Christopher (Tink) Pinkard and wife Leah, Christina Loftin and husband Brian, Luke Pinkard and wife Lauren, Joshua Pinkard, Alexis Wallis, Mikah Wallis, Jacob Wallis, Joseph Wallis, Joceline Wallis, Jedidiah Wallis and Samantha Wallis; and seven great grandchildren.
