Gale Perryman

August 10, 1945 — June 21, 2025

Smithville

Gale Martin Perryman, 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Smithville, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 10, 1945, in Texarkana, Texas, Gale lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love. He proudly served in the United States Navy for three years before beginning a long and successful 27-year career at IBM. Outside of work, Gale found great joy in the outdoors, particularly in hunting, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Madeline Ruth Perryman; his children, Margarete Perryman, Dorothy Hoehne and son-in-law Chris Hoehne, John Perryman and his family; and six beloved grandchildren.

Gale was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Nell Perryman; his father, Gabriel "Doc" Perryman; his brother, Gary Perryman; and his granddaughter, Megan Perryman.

Gale will be remembered as the rock of his family — a loving father whose guidance, patience, and quiet strength shaped the lives of his children, and a devoted husband whose unwavering love and partnership with Madeline spanned nearly six decades. His deep sense of responsibility, humility, and quiet acts of sacrifice never went unnoticed. He led by example, showing his family what it meant to work hard, love deeply, and remain true to one’s word. To know Gale was to feel his steady presence — through every challenge, every joy, and every ordinary moment that he turned into something meaningful. His kindness, strength, and humor touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever honored, and forever loved.

Gale's life was celebrated by his family and he was laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery.
