Evelyn Olson

Evelyn Marie Olson passed away peacefully early morning, January 8, 2015 at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Evelyn lacked 4 days to her 91st birthday on January 12, 2015.

She was born to Jackie J. (Hill) and Sam Ausmus in Brookston, Lamar County, Texas.

Evelyn spent her early years at Honey Grove High School in Paris, Texas, eventually graduating to 45 years of service at Southwestern Bell as Manager of Operator Services in Houston, Texas. Evelyn retired in 1984 with her beloved husband of 55 years, Bill Olson, to build their country dream house in what they considered God's country, Smithville, Texas. Evelyn and Bill were able to spend 30 years of rewarding retirement in their ranch home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Olson, her parents, her brothers, Micky and Robert Ausmus and her sisters, Christine Morphew and Juanita Weaver.Evelyn is survived by her loving daughters, Candace and Jeanene Olson, both of Burnet, and one brother, Sam Ausmus, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Riverside Veterinary Hospital, P.O.Box 149, Smithville, TX 78957 may be made in loving memory of Evelyn.

Visitation is from 5 PM to 7 PM on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in Smithville. Funeral service is 11AM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Smithville, with Bro. Mike Murphy presiding. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Smithville, TX.
