Eugene Meuth

Eugene Meuth, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on January 12, 2024, in Giddings, Texas. Born on November 28, 1933, in his hometown of Smithville, Texas.

Eugene's career spanned an impressive 35 years at Wyman Gordon in Cypress, Texas. He dedicated himself to his work and left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community. Eugene's strong work ethic dedication were admired by all who knew him.

Outside of work, Eugene had a life that was truly inspiring. He had a love for the thrill of gambling trips to Louisiana and enjoyed the challenge of restoring antique cars. His skill as a collector and restorer brought him joy and satisfaction. Eugene also cherished indulging in delicious meals at local restaurants and attending the Pin Oak Picnic. He was also a 4th degree Knights of Columbus.

Eugene leaves behind a legacy of love through his son Jeff Meuth and daughter-in-law Jessica Meuth. His beloved granddaughter Angela Mayer and her husband Devin Mayer brought immense joy to Eugene's life. Eugene took immense pride in being a loving grandfather to Cory Mayer and Barrett Mayer.
Midred Darsey, Eugene's sister, shared a special bond with him that brought them comfort through life's ups and downs. Eugene held dear numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews as well as many friends who will forever cherish the memories they created together.

The services to celebrate Eugene's remarkable life will begin with a Visitation on January 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home located at 110 American Legion Rd, Smithville, TX, 78957. A Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM on the same day and location.

A Mass of Christian Burial in honor of Eugene will be held on January 18, 2024, at St. Margaret Catholic Church located at 276 E Bellville St, Giddings, TX, 78942. The Mass will begin at 10:00 AM. A Graveside Service will be held immediatly following Mass at  St. Mary Catholic Cemetery Pin Oak located at 732 FM2104, Smithville, TX, 78957.
