Edward York Kaiser, 87, of La Grange, TX passed away Friday June 12, 2015. He was born June 19, 1927 in Winchester, Texas to Fred and Verna (Hubbard) Kaiser. Edward was baptized into the Christian faith on June 27,1927, at St. Michael's Lutheran Churn in Winchester. He confessed his faith at his confirmation on April 6, 1941. His confirmation verse was Phil 1:2.
Edward served in the army during WWII with a tour to Germany. He was honored with the Victory Medal. He was active in his church congregation until he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking trips to Branson to enjoy the different shows, especially around Christmas time. He worked hard around the farm and loved smoking his famous briskets.
Edward was united in marriage to Helen Bohot on December 26, 1948 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, Texas. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather who was always there to support and encourage his family.
The family sends their thanks to St. Mark's hospital in LaGrange for their help, kindness, and thoughtfulness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Verna Kaiser and brother-in-law, Leslie Giese.
Edward is survived by his wife, Helen R. Kaiser; his children, John Kaiser and Dawn Vandekamp; his grandchildren, Monica McClintock, Ryan McClintock, Mallory Kaiser, and Ashley Vandekamp; his great-granddaughter, Faith McClintock, his brothers and sisters-in-law, James Charles (J.C.) and Wilma Kaiser, Alfred and Ruby Bohot , sister-in-law, Gladys Giese, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Monday June 15, 2015 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 11am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery.
