Doris Jo Jones

November 11, 1925 — March 15, 2023

Doris Jo Jones was born on November 11, 1925 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She went to be with our Lord and Savior on March 15, 2023. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jones. She and Charles were married for 67 years. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Greg and Kathryn Jones of Houston, TX, Janet and Wayne Yowell of San Marcos, TX, Scott and Shelley Jones of Richmond, TX and Chuck and Sheryl Jones of Mt. Calm, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Doris and Charles traveled worldwide together: the Far East, Europe, Greece, and the Soviet Union. Doris was a devoted wife, loving mother, faithful Christian, artist, and teacher. Her children and grandchildren share her love of art and have many examples of her work passed on to them. Doris and Charles spent enjoyable years in Smithville where Doris helped start the Art League. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, particularly family get togethers at Lake LBJ where she taught art to her grandchildren.

“Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:3 Doris was caring and kind, defining by example that love is the key ingredient in all relationships.
