Donald Mark Hajek, aged 69, of Kovar, Tx, passed away on April 25, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Donald was born December 1, 1952, in Blanco, Tx, to Joseph and Francis Hajek. His love for rodeoing began as a 13-year old boy when he rode his very first bull. As an adult he would go on to ride bulls for another 12 years, winning numerous amateur rodeos. He galloped racehorses, spent 6 years as a bareback horse rider, and broke wild horses for 10 years. In the OTRCA, he won the reserved bareback and bull riding championship, he also went on to win the bull riding average. Donald was inducted into the South-Central Texas Ring of Honor in 2017. Donnie also raised cattle and shoed horses. When not competing in rodeos, he was an oilfield and dirt work operator. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, dad, PawPaw, friend, and a genuine hard worker.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Francis Hajek; sister, Katherine Elsworth
Donald is survived by his wife, Brenda Hajek; sons, Brandon Hajek (Alma), Brett Hajek (Dakota); grandchildren, Anton, Brianna, and baby Hajek; sisters, Sidonia Pearson, Francis Busch, Martha Hester (Wayne), Agatha Quitta (John), Patricia Falkenberg (George), Carol Driggers (David), Belinda “Suze” Hollub (Donnie), Dolores Foreman (Rickey), Anastasia Arambula, and Leona Moore; brothers, Raymond Hajek (Vivian), Joseph Hajek (Shirley), Martin Hajek (Janice), Ronald Hajek and David Emerick; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 5:00pm-8:00pm in the chapel of Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in Smithville. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, at 2:00pm at Colorado River Cowboy Church in Smithville followed by interment in Kovar Catholic Cemetery.
