Obituary

Demetra “Dee” Frazier passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 89. After months of declining health, she died peacefully with family by her side.

Dee was born on August 12, 1937, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Tom and Lillie Mae Carter.

In October 1955, she married the love of her life, Fletcher Frazier and together they built their family... raising five children: sons, Tony and Michael, and daughters, Rhonda, Kathy, and Sheila.

In 1970, the Air Force relocated their family to Texas, where they continued their lives together. Dee enjoyed her time spent working at Hannath’s and other local businesses.

After retiring, Dee enjoyed the simple things that brought her the most happiness—spending time with her family and friends, mowing any patch of grass that needed cutting, sitting and napping on her front porch, and proudly displaying anything and everything that represented her beloved Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Roll Tide!

Dee was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings, Calvin, Vernon, Tula Mae and Annie (Carter) Hobbs.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children: Tony (Cindy) Frazier, Sheila (Mark) Hanna, Michael (Sandie) Frazier, Kathy (Mike) Dye, and Rhonda Smiley; 9 grandchildren, Brandon, Thomas, Ashley, Justin, Marshall, Matthew, Michaela, Madison, and Lane; 17 great-grandchildren, Braxton, Rhett, Bella, Reid, Katie, Kylee, Jaxson, McKenzie, Weston, Kasen, Autumn, Paisyn, Lakin, Hudson, Tinsley, Ethan, and Sterling; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Isla, and Harper.

Dee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and friends.

Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2026 at 10AM at the Smithville Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
