Clayton Earl Seidel, of Rosanky, passed away on Friday, January 28th, at the age of 63 with his wife and sons by his side. He was born on April 12, 1958, and was the oldest child to Robert and Elaine Seidel.
He married the love of his life, Anne Muehr, on September 8, 1984. They were married for 37 wonderful years and blessed with 3 dynamic (and often bullheaded) boys. Derrick and wife Lindsey, Douglas and fiancé Katherine, Ryan and wife Ashleigh. Clayton’s grandchildren were his world, Simon, Dawson, and Violet, Avery and Lane, Madyson, Kaden, and Barrett, and step-grandchildren Ashlynd, Dalton, and Colton. Being their Grandpa filled a space in his heart that he never knew was empty and words cannot describe the unconditional love they had for each other.
Clayton provided for his family diligently through hard work and dedication and retired from Texas Department of Transportation after more than 30 years of service. To him, retirement just meant he no longer worked for the state of Texas, and he was able to spend his days doing what he loved - farming and ranching. Clayton was never without a junior ranch hand and more often than not had a grandkid (or three) riding alongside in the gator helping him with daily rounds. He was known for his dependable nature, always willing to lend a hand to those who needed him, as long as he was home by suppertime.
Clayton is survived by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, his adoring mother, Elaine, who he visited daily, his dedicated siblings Clinton and wife Lyn, Clifton and wife Karen, Sharon and husband John, Sharlotte and fiancé Marshall, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Seidel.
He was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s String Prairie Catholic Church and a member of The Knights of Columbus where he faithfully served. Clayton’s loving heart, kind eyes, humble and honest nature will be missed by so many.
