Chad was the son of Charles McCullough Sr. of Smithville, Texas, and Cindy Wiggins of Canyon Lake, Texas. He was the brother of Joey McCullough and Chelsa Vinklarek and the proud father of Skylar McCullough and Kolton McCullough, nephew of David Freytag, and husband to his loving wife Brooksie McCullough.
A true cowboy at heart, Chad had a lifelong passion for horses, ranching, and rodeo. Throughout his life, he worked as a ranch manager, horse trainer, and later as a heavy equipment operator and instructor. No matter where life took him, Smithville, Texas, was always home.
Chad took great pride in passing his love of horses and rodeo down to his children and four grandchildren: Stetson, Sawyer, Kalli Jane, and Konway. He also enjoyed helping young people with their horses, 4-H, and FFA projects, always encouraging them to follow their dreams.
Chad was truly the life of the party. He never met a stranger, loved telling jokes, and could bring laughter to any room. Whether lending a helping hand, cooking for family, playing 42, or simply sharing stories, Chad had a special way of making every gathering memorable.
Above all, Chad will be remembered for his cowboy spirit, generous heart, unwavering love for his family, and the countless memories he leaves behind.
Though his time in the saddle has come to an end, his cowboy spirit will ride on forever.
Visitation will begin at 9:00am on Friday, October 23, 2026 and the funeral service will begin at 10:00am at Marrs Jones Funeral Home with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville.
