Carolyn (Pyper) Koopman was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on August 5th, 1945, to William and Regina(O'Connell) Pyper. She passed away in Smithville, Texas on January 14th, 2024. Carolyn received all her Sacraments at St. Joseph Cathedral, 5 blocks from her home and attended Cathedral Grade School, Cathedral High School and O'Gorman High School where she graduated in 1963.
Carolyn married the love of her life on September 23, 1967 at St. Joseph Cathedral, she and Lloyd moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma - Redondo Beach, California - Seattle, Washington - then to Houston, Texas where Lloyd retired from American Airlines.
Carolyn's favorite job was as a P.E. Aide at Ford Elementary. She loved quilting, knitting and attending St. Mary Catholic Church in Pin Oak.
Carolyn and Lloyd have three children, David (Cheryl) Koopman, Julie (Jon) Fox, and Andi (William) Vaughn and 10 grandchildren, Daniel Koopman, Gunner, Peyton and Greyson Fox, Hunter, Cody, and Sydney Vaughn, and Kendra, Trenton, and Kyle Moore (Cheryl's children that David help raise).
Carolyn has 5 remaining siblings; Marianne Donelan, Philip Pyper, Jane (Mark O'Connor), Susan Johnson, David (Chic) Pyper, and three remaining in-laws; Doris Schildhauer, LeRoy (Marie) Koopman and Kathy Koopman
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 3, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church in Smithville, TX. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM prior to the Mass.
