Cameron Juarez passed away at the age of 20 on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
Cameron was a bright student and talented athlete full of compassion and love for his family and community. A friend to many, all who knew him would agree his beautiful smile will be missed immensely. Cameron was an exceptional athlete at Smithville High School and sought to continue his athletic career at Hardin Simmons University. However, his love for his mom Teresa (yes, he was a momma’s boy) and siblings compelled him to return home to find opportunities to continue his education and play football closer to family. Cameron’s love for his mom and siblings was immeasurable. Spending time with family, laughing and joking, was always at the top of his list of favorite things to do. When not spending time with family, Cameron could be found enjoying time with his dog, Blue, fishing, playing basketball and football, working out, riding motorcycles, or attending church.
He is survived by his mother, Teresa Juarez; stepfather, Edwardo Villegas; siblings, Santiago, Eylissia, Madeline, Edwardo Jr. and Isaiah; father, Leonard Baker; siblings, Brittany and Leonard Jr. Baker; grandparents, Steve Juarez, Juanita Mendez, Rosa Villegas; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Smithville Church of God on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10:00am followed by interment in Oak Hill cemetery.
