Bobby Gray Hoskins

Bobby Gray Hoskins passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025 at the age of 101.

Bobby was born to B.V. and Lottie Hoskins in Red Rock, Texas. He attended school until the 7th grade, when he returned home to the work of the farm. He often spoke of the time he spent as a "cabbie" driving taxis in Austin. He married Dorine Noack on March 2, 1951and together they had one son, Jerry Hoskins. Bobby also spent some time working for the Railroad but eventually went back to working on his farm. He enjoyed tending to his cattle, chickens and later a group of goats.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Dorine, 6 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by his son Jerry, granddaughter, Heidi and her husband Kyle Poppe, numerous nieces and nephews and close friends, Kathy Quitta, Roy &Judy Gonzales.

Pallearers will be Nathan Schultz, Roy Gonzales, Jimmy Hoskins, Bradley Wilhelm, Leroy Ferrell and Terry Witherspoon.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Grace Lutheran Church of Smithville in memory of Bobby.

Services to for Bobby will be held Friday May 30, 2025 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Smithville, Texas.

Family and friends will gather at 10:00am and the funeral service will begin at 11:00am with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas.
