Bobby Gessler Gadd, age 87, passed away on March 28, 2026. He was born on March 11, 1939, in
Memphis, Tennessee, to Grover Cleveland Gadd and Gladys Bush Gadd. Bobby was the eighth of nine
children and spent his early years in Mississippi before moving to Bastrop, Texas, at the age of 9. After a few years in Bastrop, the family moved to Smithville, Texas, where Bobby
and his brother Crawford both graduated from Smithville High School.
On June 24, 1961, Bobby married the love of his life, Billie Ann Warren Gadd, in Muldoon, Texas. Shortly
after their marriage, they made their home in Houston, Texas, where Bobby began his lifelong career in
woodworking. Through hard work and dedication, he established his own business, B&B Cabinet
Shop, where his exceptional craftsmanship and passion for woodworking became his life’s work.
There are people everywhere that are still using his sturdy cabinets, desks, and tables, and there might be
offshore oil platforms that are still using the sleeping quarters he built.
His skill as a woodworker was unmatched, and the pieces he created will stand as lasting reminders of his talent and dedication.
Nobody else could create masterpieces like he did in Formica. He continued operating the shop until his retirement, after which he and Billie moved to Edna, Texas.
Bobby and Billie Ann raised three sons: Blane, Brian, and Burt. He was preceded in death by his sons,
Blane and Brian. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Billie Ann Gadd; his son, Burt Gadd
and wife Tambra; his grandchildren, Tyler Gadd and wife Ashley, Ashley Parrack and husband Drew,
and Tanner Gadd and wife Emilee; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Bobby was a man of quiet strength and deep kindness. Though not a man of many words, he showed
his love through his actions—always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He found great joy in
fishing, hunting, and tending to his garden. All of the game wardens in Central Texas knew of the Gadd
boys, heralding (& ticketing) them for their fishing prowess.
Above all, Bobby cherished his family. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his generous
spirit, and the love he gave so freely.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in
Smithville, Texas. A cemetery service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Pitman Cemetery in Muldoon, Texas.
Family and friends are invited to gather afterward at 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 180 in
Smithville, Texas.
Bobby’s life was one of hard work, humility, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
