Lillian Vedola Elizabeth Wiggs Rew (96) was born June 8, 1922 in Holdenville, Oklahoma
to Cypert and Lena Mary (Thetford) Wiggs. She passed away November 11, 2018.

“Lil” married William Wallace Rew in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 27, 1946. Through the
years they lived throughout Texas in San Antonio, Dallas, Austin and Smithville. In 2001,
on their 55th wedding anniversary, “Wally” died in a house fire in Smithville. Lillian remained
active and vibrant with her many friends in Smithville. In 2013 when she moved to the
Brookdale Retirement Community in Victoria, Texas.

For many years, Lillian volunteered for Seton Hospital in Austin and continued her work at the
Smithville Regional Hospital Auxiliary where she made many good friends. One of her favorite
jobs was working for the Bursar’s office at the University of Texas in Austin. Lillian was a member
of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Guadalupe Victoria Chapter,
Daughters of the American Revolution.

Lil loved people! Her happiest times were with her friends. Travelling, playing bridge, shopping,
parties, watching football or just casual get togethers were always fun to Lil if her friends were near.

husband and her beloved granddaughter, Ami Elizabeth Lunsford.

sister in law, Drs. Sue and Charles Edward Mize of New Mexico; niece, Glennice McFarland of
California and nephew, Lindley Wiggs of Oklahoma.
